About Jeff isler

To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors in the greater Cleveland and Akron school districts who have the desire to further their education by attending an accredited institution of higher learning.

 The Jeff Isler Prestige Award Scholarship (non-renewal) in the amount of $2000.00 is offered to one (1) high

school senior from the greater Cleveland and Akron areas with a GPA 3.6 or higher (unweighted). Their

high school curriculum should consist of advanced coursework such as college-level classes, IB or AP.

*Submit along with application, senior photo, certified transcript and ACT and/or ACT test scores.

Qualifications

1. Academic Excellence

• Minimum GPA: 3.6 or higher (unweighted)
• Advanced coursework such as AP, IB or college-level classes preferred.

2. Leadership & Extracurricular Involvement

• Demonstrated leadership in school, community, or extracurricular activities.
• Participation in community service or volunteer work (minimum 40 hours).

3. Personal Character

• Exemplifies resilience, integrity, and commitment to lifelong learning.

4. Residency & Enrollment

• Open to high school seniors in the greater Cleveland and Akron areas
• Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two or four-year college or university.

5. Letter of Recommendation

• At least one recommendation letter from a teacher, mentor, pastor or community leader.

A written response to all specific essays’ questions that will help us to have a better understanding of who you are as a person and a student and that will demonstrate your ability to organize your thoughts and express yourself. Please prepare 500 to 1000 words on a single sheet of paper.

Leadership and Impact: Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership skills to address a challenge in your school or community. What actions did you take and what impact did it have? What lessons did you learn about leadership?

Resilience and Growth: Tell us about a significant obstacle you faced and how you overcome it. How has this experience shaped your goals and values?

Vision for the Future: Where do you see yourself in 10 years and how will this scholarship help you achieve your vision?

Community Contribution: The Jeff Isler Prestige Scholarship emphasizes giving back to the community. What is one initiative or project you would implement to improve your local area and why?

Personal Statement: (Optional) Share any additional information about your background, passions, or experiences that make you a strong candidate for the Jeff Isler Prestige Scholarship Award.

The JEFF ISLER PRESTIGE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD is a one-time award and is not renewable in successive years.

• No cash award will be made directly to a recipient. The award will be on behalf of the recipient,

paid directly to the College/University or Vocational/Technical School of the recipient’s choice.

• THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD MUST BE USED WITHIN ONE CALENDAR YEAR OF BEING REWARDED OR IT WILL BE FORFEITED. 

• All qualified applicants will have equal opportunity to compete for these scholarships.

• Student must submit a written application that must be signed by applicant and his/her guardian along with transcript of grades.

A panel of teachers & instructors appointed by the officers of Just Us Rhythm –N– Motion Inc. Chairperson that will be determining the number of recipients, whose names are forwarded to the Just Us Rhythm –N– Motion Officers for final selections. The dollar values of all scholarships and the number of recipients are determined on a yearly basis. The criteria for selecting scholarship recipients with extenuating circumstances (death of a parent, extreme financial need , etc.) is a confidential matter that will be assessed and voted on by the Association Officers on an individual basis.

An announcement of scholarship winners will be made on “Senior Day” during the Senior Award Ceremony at recipients’ high school. Recipient names will be posted on our website www.jurnm.com. Recipients will be asked to provide their senior picture for our patronage booklet and is requested to participate at the annual Just Us Rhythm -N– Motion Inc Scholarship Benefit Dance.

The application requires the following additional information:

A. An official certified high school transcript.

B. Certification of SAT/ACT scores. If not included on high school transcript.

C. Class Photo.

Selection will be made without regard to the applicant’s race, color, ethnic origin, religion belief, sex, martial status or physical disabilities.
